Student Ministry
Students were the reason that Memorial Lutheran Church was founded in 1940. We are close to the dorms, the greeks, across the street from the Memorial Union, and next door to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Bible Studies
During the semester, join students for contemporary hymns, devotions, and reflection during our Student Fellowship. It's at 9:15 PM on Wednesdays, and snacks are provided.
There are also Men/Women Bible studies as well as various Bible study groups with Internationals. Check our calendar to see if any interest you.
Greek Life
Memorial has connections with both Phi Beta Chi, a Christian Sorority with Lutheran roots, as well as Beta Sigma Psi, a Lutheran Fraternity.
Peer Ministry
At Memorial, we have "Peer Ministers". They are students who not only have a knack for welcoming and listening, but recieve additonal training through retreats and weekly meetings. These students share the love of Jesus by establishing contact with students who have attended services and inviting others to worship services and other events at Memorial.
Peer Ministers are hired on a semester basis. If you're interested, contact one of our pastors to begin discerning application.

Mission Heart Scholarship
The International Student Ministry, (ISM), of Memorial is offering two $500 scholarships to young Lutherans entering Iowa State University in the fall of 2013. Considering getting more involved? We can always use volunteers. There are many volunteer opportunities!
Sunday School teacher or aid Vacation Bible School teacher Youth Leader Bible study leader, (for students or internationals) Lead an English class Offering to drive someone to worship or classes Help in the nursery on Sundays or during the week Lead a devotion for Wednesday Student Fellowship Attend the spring break service trip Usher during worship services Join Handbells, Choir, or Brass Play or sing a piece for a worship service Sitting with Internationals or with children during worship
If you contact Lyle Groth, (legroth@hotmail.com), our Director of Volunteers, he'll be able to put you in contact with the right people to help you find a way to get involved. We like to support our volunteers! We have tons of resources, whether people, books, or lesson ideas. So don't worry about having to figure something our all on our own.
